FRESH from the news that the Canberra-based duo have signed a major international record deal, The Aston Shuffle land in Cairns this weekend for a big show at Gilligan's.

The signings, with Outsiders/Polydor for the UK and Casablanca/Universal Republic for the US, prove that Mikah Freeman and Vance Musgrove are Australia's hottest new electronic export.

The Aston Shuffle has just finished writing and recording their second album in the UK, with album production in its final completion back home in Australia. The album is scheduled for a local release later in 2013.

The first single Sunrise (Won't Get Lost) drops digitally tomorrow, bringing together a double header of antipodean talent in the form of The Aston Shuffle and Tommy Trash.

Proving an instant hit with tastemakers and fans alike, the track has already peaked at No 2 on the official UK Club Chart, held the Beatport No 1 spot for three consecutive weeks and become a mainstay in Swedish House Mafia's One Last Tour performances.

The new single package will come with the addition of remixes from heavyweight producers Siege and Perth's ShockOne, providing further fuel for dance floors worldwide.

It's certainly been a big year for the capital city pair.

Their debut album Seventeen After Midnight in 2011 propelled them to stardom, peaking at No 1 in the iTunes Electronic Chart and ending up ranked in Rolling Stone magazine's Top 50 albums of the year.

Add to this a No 1 spot in InTheMix's prestigious Top 50, the biggest DJ and dance poll in Australia, and a string of sell-out club and festival dates and there is no doubt that The Aston Shuffle occupy a special place in Australia's dance music elite.

With their new single and album set to repeat the success of Seventeen After Midnight, don't miss the boys in action this Friday when they drop in for a special DJ set.
