Former Canberra Liberals president Gary Kent has withdrawn legal action against his former party.
Mr Kent led the push to overturn February's controversial preselection which saw former senator Gary Humphries dumped from the Liberals Senate ticket in favour of Zed Seselja.
He wanted the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal to force the party to hand over documents relating to the preselection and the party's financial situation.
A tribunal hearing was scheduled for today but Mr Kent decided to withdraw the legal action.
He quit the party last week when he was called to a disciplinary hearing by the party's management committee.
"Not being a member of the party anymore, there is no point in proceeding with it," he said.
Mr Kent says the party delayed the hearings to make it difficult for him to obtain documents and defend himself.
"There will be other party members who will be lodging claims for access to documents and that will occur in coming weeks," he said.
