One of the first communists to go green - The Australian (blog)

FORTY years ago next year the Green Ban was born. This event took place on a bleak winter's morning in the cramped offices of the NSW Builders Labourers Federation in Sydney's old Trades Hall building.

The birth resulted from a conversation over a cup of coffee between this journalist and the then firebrand secretary of the NSW BLF, Jack Mundey. It was announced exclusively in The Australian the following day.
