MERRYVILLE stud, Boorowa, scored a hat-trick at Canberra Royal at the weekend, taking out all three supreme exhibit awards in medium-strong, fine and superfine sections with grand champion March shorn rams.

Merryville's show team competed against 38 exhibits from six studs from throughout the Southern Tablelands and Slopes, plus the Monaro.

Mr Merriman said Canberra Royal was the first show outing for each ram and would now be considering them as members of the Sydney Royal show team.

Other broad ribbon wins were gained by the Alcock family, Greenland stud, Bungarby; Barron family, Adina stud, Cooma; Merriman family, Merrignee stud, Boorowa, and Lette family, Conrayn stud, Berridale.

A total of 424 sheep representing 13 wool and meat breeds met the judging mats last Friday and Saturday.

Full results in The Land on March 6.
