7:06am: Kmart is the first Australian retailer to offer compensation to the victims and their families of the Bangladeshi factory that burnt down last week, killing at least seven workers and injuring about 50.
The company is one of three Australian retailers, including Big W and Target, to admit that material for its clothes was manufactured in the factory owned by the Palmal Group of Companies.
Kmart was the latest company to confirm that a recent order for fabric was placed at the factory and offering financial compensation.
''Our team in Bangladesh is working with Palmal and the [Bangladeshi Fire and Safety] Accord team to ensure that all affected families are compensated and that the factory workers can find alternative jobs,'' spokeswoman Tracie Walker said.

7:03am: A stampede on a bridge outside a Hindu temple has killed more than 90 people in India, with many of the victims leaping to their deaths in the water below, AFP has reported.
Police warned on Sunday the number could rise as medics struggled to make their way through hordes of pilgrims to reach the scene of the tragedy.
While officials said the panic appeared to have been sparked by a false rumour, witnesses said the situation escalated when police weighed in with batons.
Police and state government officials said the stampede at the Ratangarh temple was triggered by rumours the bridge might collapse after being struck by a heavy vehicle around lunchtime.
7:00am: Iran is reportedly planning to send another monkey into space , AP has reported.
Conservative daily Jomhuri Eslami quoted on Sunday the deputy head of Iran's space agency, Hamid Fazeli, as saying the planned launch, within a month, is part of the country's plans to send a human to space in 2018.
Earlier this year, Iran claimed it launched a monkey out of the earth's atmosphere and successfully had it return.
Fazeli was quoted in the article as saying animals with a similar weight as monkeys are under consideration as future space test subjects.
In September, Iran suggested it may start launching Persian cats into space.
6:58am: Heading into world news, the International Committee of the Red Cross says six of its aid workers and a member of the Syrian Red Crescent have been kidnapped by gunmen in Syria.
"Six ICRC staff members and one member of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent have been abducted in Idlib in northwestern Syria," ICRC spokesman Ewan Watson told AFP at the organisation's Geneva base on Sunday.
"We don't know who took them. It was unidentified armed men," he added.

6:52am Tom McIlroy: Canberra police have reopened the Barton Highway and Gundaroo Drive in Crace this morning, after clean up from yesterday's egg truck rollover was completed.
Paramedics treated a 35-year-old man for minor injuries and Gundaroo Drive traffic was diverted down Barton Highway to Gungahlin Drive Extension. Southbound traffic was diverted down Kuringa Drive.
ACT Policing are investigating the cause of the crash.
6:50am: A wild fire, with flames as high as a ''power pole'', ripped through a car park in Sydney's Olympic Park on Sunday, destroying more than 40 cars that were heard exploding, causing authorities to evacuate more than 1500 people from the aquatic centre in Homebush.
Hot winds and high temperatures also had hundreds of firefighters battling six major fires across the state.
The fire in Homebush, in Sydney's west, believed to be caused by a grass fire about 3pm, damaged as many as 70 cars, and completely destroyed 43 vehicles, police said.
Fire and Rescue NSW Superintendent Ian Krimmer said the number of cars destroyed could rise, as 50 firefighters fought to contain the blaze, which was eventually extinguished by Sunday evening.
''The total amount is still unknown,'' he said.

6:46am: Police are seeking witnesses to a fatal motorcycle crash following the discovery of a man's body in the NSW Southern Highlands.
They say a motorist spotted a motorcycle and male rider down an embankment off the Illawarra Highway near Robertson about 12.40pm on Sunday.
Officers were called and the rider, aged in his 60s, was declared dead at the scene.
The crash site was declared a crime scene, with investigations indicating the man ran off the road on his BMW motorcycle sometime between 7am and 7.30am that morning.

6:36am: Sticking with sport, Novak Djokovic overcame a fierce challenge from Juan Martin del Potro on Sunday to defend his Shanghai Masters title.
Djokovic recorded a 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (7-3) victory, bringing the Argentine down to earth after his heroics against Rafael Nadal.
Victory for Djokovic, who won last week's China Open in Beijing, gives him a 20th consecutive win in China.

6:33am: The Australian Diamonds are adamant they're yet to hit peak form, coach Lisa Alexander declaring they need to get rid of the "brain-snap errors" to win Commonwealth Games gold next year.
The Diamonds completed a spectacular 4-1 series rout against New Zealand in Canberra on Sunday, fighting their way to a thrilling 50-49 win in the dying seconds.
It was Australia's fourth consecutive win against the Silver Ferns and the first time in 15 years they'd achieved four wins in a row against their trans-Tasman rivals.
