Residents in a north Canberra street were evacuated on Thursday night after the discovery of a suspicious package.
The package was discovered by police who visited a house in Ngunnawal as part of an investigation.
The item was later rendered safe by the bomb squad and residents were allowed to return to their homes around 5:15am.
