A man was left trapped after a truck he was travelling in collided with another truck on the Monaro Highway in Canberra's south this morning.

Police, ACT Fire and Rescue and ambulance crews responded to the southbound crash near the intersection of the Monaro Highway and Isabella Drive in Gilmore.

Hydraulic rescue tools were used to free the trapped male, aged in his 30s. He suffered lower leg limb injuries and was treated at the scene before being transported to The Canberra Hospital in a stable condition.
