Bede Murray is resigned to sending only one or two of his potential three-year-old stakes runners to the Canberra Guineas.

Bede Murray is resigned to playing catch up with his team of potential three-year-old stakes runners as he zeroes in on sending only one or two of them to the Canberra Guineas on Sunday.
The veteran Kembla Grange trainer has entered O'Reilly's Revenge, Darci Magic and Ideal Guide for one of four features on Black Opal day, but has conceded only one may go.
O'Reilly's Revenge and Darci Magic, winners of just a Kembla maiden each, are throw-at-the-stumps nominations for the $3 million Doncaster next month.
Ideal Guide has already been stakes placed during his two-year-old season.
"The races at Kembla being off on Saturday has caused a problem," Murray said.
"They're three nice horses, but I think they're going to be behind the eight ball for some of the better races.
"They might head towards the winter carnival. Things are a bit up in the air at the moment as we're getting behind [in their preparations]."
Murray's hand for Black Opal day will be headlined by talented juvenile Sure And Fast, one of 21 entries for the $275,000 Listed two-year-old race.
The Not A Single doubt colt has been up and going since the Breeders Plate - the traditional start to the two-year-old season in October - but has since returned in fine form.
He won a Goulburn maiden when resuming last month and battled on well behind Klammer at Canberra just over a week later.
"He's progressed all the time.
"The experience of having a run in the blinkers and hopefully having a sit on them, he should run well, " Murray said.
