Water supply has been interrupted in parts of Garran while engineers work to fix a burst water main.
ACTEW Water crews have isolated water from the Red Hill reservoir while they work to fix the burst main in Brereton Street. Homes on or near Brereton Street, Henderson Street, Curlewis Crescent and Couvreur Street have been affected.
The water company said supply would be reconnected as quickly as possible, but did not provide an estimated time.
"Following the repair, it is expected that there may be some water discolouration and heightened chlorine smell to elevated areas of Garran," ACTEW said in a statement.
"Customers are advised not to use dishwashers or washing machines over this period. Discolouration will disappear with normal use."
Customers affected can call the company on 6248 3111 for further information.
