SOUTHS Logan Magpies Intrust Super Cup coach Josh Hannay says he is willing to bury the hatchet and work with Canberra head coach Ricky Stuart.

Hannay said he has no ill feelings towards Stuart, who demoted the prolific pointscoring centre to park football at the Cronulla Sharks in 2007 and restricted him to just three first grade matches after a stellar 150-game career with North Queensland.

The former Cowboys veteran and Queensland Origin centre was forced to make a move to Wales in 2008 to further his career before visa issues marked an early end to his playing career.

Hannay will meet Stuart for the first time since his departure from the Sharks next month to discuss the Magpies, who are aligned with Canberra, but said he held no bitter feelings towards the Raiders’ new main man.

"It is all water under the bridge," Hannay said.

Sonny Bill Williams' howler for New Zealand against Samoa has revived memories of some of the best 'bombed' tries in rugby league history.

"It has been a long time and the longer you spend in the game the more you realise it is just part of the industry.

"Coaches come in and need to make some tough decisions in the best interest of the club and it happens everywhere.

"You start out and see everything through rose coloured glasses but there are no hard feelings and no lingering bitterness."

Hannay said he was excited to work with the Raiders staff, with rules expected to be reinstated to allow contracted Raiders players to play for the Magpies.

Kiwi enforcer Sonny Bill Williams endures a rather embarrassing moment during the Kiwis win over Samoa at the Rugby League World Cup.

"We will most likely go through how things are working out from their end in terms of implementing their structure and how we plan around that," he said.

"They will want some continuity in terms of the structure but we will still have our own identity, just with a Canberra flavour to it."

New Zealand have played out a thrilling opening encounter in the Rugby League World Cup, producing a Holden Cup-like 42-24 scoreline in favour of the Kiwis.
