Canberra house prices reach record high - ABC Online

Canberra has recorded its highest median house price after an improvement in the local economy.


Australian Property Monitors says the median house price in the national capital rose by 1.8 per cent to $576,248 in the June quarter and 4.2 per cent over the past year.


The suburb of Griffith recorded the highest median house price of $1.2 million, up 17.5 per cent.


The suburbs of Forde, Fadden, Bonner and Weston also recorded price growth of more than 10 per cent.


Unit prices fell by 1.3 per cent over the same period, to be 0.7 per cent down for the year.
