Qantas increases number of Canberra flights - The Australian

QANTAS is moving to make itself more cost competitive on routes to and from the nation's capital with the addition of five Boeing 717 jets featuring new cabins boasting in-flight entertainment and business class.

The move comes as Virgin Australia is ramping up its regional presence with the acquisition of Perth-based Skywest and has said it intends targeting the east coast as its fleet of ATR turboprops grows.
