THEY ARE leaders at Dubbo College Senior Campus and now Leticia Quince and Phoebe Hall are in the nation's capital to hone their leadership skills.
The two year 11 students were chosen to represent the city in a week long leadership conference after the Rotary Club of Dubbo West gave their applications a thumbs up.
Rotarian Lyn McDonald said they would learn about Parliament, meet several Members of Parliament, visit government houses and learn about democracy and the election process.
This opportunity would give them public speaking skills and build their confidence.
"They were chosen on merit and we were impressed with their applications," she said.
Both students were part of the Indigenous Youth Leadership Program at school and showed enthusiasm in the trip.
As they were ready to board the plane in Dubbo, Mrs McDonald said they were visibly excited for the experience.
"This is the second time Leticia has been on a plane in her life and for Phoebe it is the first," she said.
"I think they are pretty excited about the opportunities the program would offer them."
