A NERVOUS investor may think twice before buying a rundown airport with two terminals, a fish and chip shop and a sheep paddock at a time of considerable uncertainty in the aviation industry, but Stephen Byron does not belong in the camp of jittery businessmen.
Byron's family company Capital Airport Group - his father is Canberra entrepreneur Terry Snow - made the bold decision to purchase the town's dilapidated airport in the late 1990s with a view of creating "the best small airport in the world".
