Canberra will host the Australian leg of the men's and women's Oceania basketball championships in August.
The Boomers and Opals will take on New Zealand's respective men's and women's teams in a doubleheader in Auckland on August 14 before concluding the two-game series at the AIS Arena four days later.
The Opals must down New Zealand's Tall Ferns in the series in order to book a 2014 World Cup spot due to only one women's Oceania vacancy.
However, the London Olympic bronze medallists are expected to make light work of the world No.22-ranked Kiwis.
Both the world No.10 Boomers and 18th-ranked New Zealand Tall Blacks are assured 2014 World Cup berths due to two men's Oceania spots on offer.
But the two-game Oceania series will determine World Cup seedings and group placements.
The 2014 men's World Cup will be held in Spain while the women's tournament takes place in Turkey.
