St George Illawarra halfback Nathan Fien concedes he and fellow playmaker Jamie Soward have to take responsibility and fix the Dragons' misfiring attack.
The Dragons, whose attack was the worst in the NRL in 2012, have scored just three tries in two games in 2013, including just one to prop Michael Weyman in Friday night's 22-6 loss to Brisbane in Wollongong.
The home side looked slow, predictable and at times devoid of ideas against the Broncos with the Dragons wasting a mountain of possession as they struggled to get over the line.
With the Dragons having recruited former Manly under 20s halfback Josh Drinkwater in the off-season, Fien admits the pressure is on to perform or perish.
"The halves live and die by the sword, it all goes on the result and obviously the first two haven't gone our way," Fien said.
"The halves are generally responsible."
"That's 0-2 now, a few missed opportunities out there tonight.
"I thought the first half we built some pressure nicely but we just weren't able to execute.
"We're just missing the mark at the moment."
And the first signs that the frustration is spilling over were on show at WIN Stadium on Friday night.
Weyman, who played just 28 minutes in which he produced 25 tackles and six runs for 47 metres, gesticulated with his hands in frustration towards the coach's box when he was hauled from the field late in the game.
Price too is feeling the pressure as he fights for a job which was offered to Melbourne's Craig Bellamy during the off-season, but Weyman played down the sideline incident.
"It's just the result - no-one likes losing," Weyman said.
"It's frustrating, not the result we wanted but the beauty about rugby league is there's next week and we get to move on."
Price admitted he would head out to Leichhardt Oval on Saturday to monitor the performance of Drinkwater in the NSW Cup against Canterbury before deciding on any chances for next week's trip to Canberra.
