THE federal government may be looking to rebuild fractured relationships with the states over TAFE funding, Tertiary Education Minister Chris Bowen signalled this week.
Mr Bowen said the commonwealth-state dispute – specifically, Canberra’s last minute veto of longstanding plans for a university-TAFE merger in central Queensland – had been “one of the first issues I was briefed on [after] taking over the portfolio”.
