THE widening scandal surrounding Eddie Obeid has triggered a renewed round of hostilities between Labor's two most recent NSW premiers, Kristina Keneally and Nathan Rees, over which of them was more under the influence of the former ALP powerbroker.
On the morning of the day he was deposed as premier by Ms Keneally in 2009, Mr Rees famously announced: "Should I not be premier at the end of this day, let there be no doubt in the community's mind that any challenger would be a puppet of Eddie Obeid and Joe Tripodi."
