nation ablaze as firestorm turns deadly - The Australian



THE nation's rolling bushfire crisis has claimed a man's life, razed at least five homes and caused widespread devastation in large parts of eastern Victoria.



In NSW, thousands of firefighters were deployed to battle more than 100 bushfires across the state, two homes were destroyed and a fire was burning towards the south coast town of Merimbula, 70km north of the Victorian border.
