ELLYSE Perry's Sydney FC consolidated second position in the W-League with a thrilling victory in injury time over her former side Canberra United at Leichhardt Oval on Saturday.

The game was deadlocked at 3-3 when Sydney captain Kyah Simon orchestrated an attacking raid down the left which resulted in a goal from substitute Emma Kete which gave the Sky Blues a 4-3 victory.

Perry of West Pymble, played in defence as Sydney went to the half-time break with a 2-1 lead.

Canberra levelled the score at 2-2 shortly after half-time before the Sky Blues netted a third goal to lead 3-2.

The visitors struck again with six minutes remaining to draw level at 3-3 before Kete's heroics deep into injury time.

The match was Perry's first against her former side after signing with Sydney in September.

In May, Canberra United chief executive Heather Reid told ABC Grandstand that Perry needed to find another club if she couldn't commit to full-time training at Canberra.
