Fox threat to Apple Isle - The Australian



FOXES are widespread in Tasmania and it may already be too late to prevent them becoming entrenched, threatening a "catastrophic" new wave of native species extinctions, researchers have concluded.



Experts led by the University of Canberra's Institute for Applied Ecology used DNA tests to prove that at least 56 droppings collected on the island since 2001, and mostly since 2008, were from foxes.
