NSW captain Stephen O'Keefe has won the toss and elected to field in the one-day cricket clash with Queensland at Canberra's Manuka Oval.

Usman Khawaja and skipper Chris Hartley will open for the visitors, with Luke Pomersbach set to come in at No.5 in his maiden game for the Bulls.

Former Western Australia young gun Pomersbach battled depression, drug and alcohol issues before signing a one-year deal with Queensland in July.

The 28-year-old, who was once plucked from the WACA carpark to make his international Twenty20 debut in 2007 when Brad Hodge was injured before the game, blasted a century in Brisbane grade cricket last weekend.
