IT'S now nearly two months since the government released its white paper on Australia in the Asian Century. In that time, has it proved to be a lofty tome occupying the top shelf of ministerial bookcases, or a practical plan for the nation's future economic development?
Despite the distractions of personality politics in Canberra, it would be wrong for anyone to conclude that nothing has happened on Asian Century policy since the white paper's release - so suffocating has been the mud thrown in the federal parliament.
