'Long overdue' Murray-Darling Basin plan becomes law - The Australian



THE Gillard government's final plan for the Murray-Darling Basin has been signed into law, with a promise to return 2750 gigalitres of water to the river system.



Environment Minister Tony Burke unveiled the final plan today, declaring it was not an environmental compromise “but a plan to fix a problem that is long overdue”.
